I don't mean to be a downer, but did anyone check out the Valentino Couture show? I mean it's not like I was there, but there was something about it that made me feel like Rodarte, not Valentino. Maybe this all comes from the fact that I watched Valentino: The Last Emperor last weekend, and it reminded me of the beautiful, high fashion-flowing fantasies of Valentino's mind. I know no one can replicate design style, but does this even look like it should be under the same label?

I think it's cool- it's way more my style than anything from past Valentino collections, but the critics are right- it feels like they are trying to hard. Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Picciol are certainly talented, but how is it that these two have strayed so far away from this:

I may not know what I'm talking about- and as this new collection is cool, it just doesn't scream Valentino. I just need some flowy evening dresses, ok? Next time?

I agree with you, they should continue making clothes like Valentino did because that's what the customers expect and want. Valentino has been creating his own special style for 45 years and they cannot change and destroy it because it's not a long time since he retired
